A Little SEO Experiment – Part 1
I thought I would do a little Search Engine Optimization (SEO) experiment for you to see as part of your training for how to create a blog. I am going to write two (2) articles here on My Newbie Blog. One will be called “Fun Things to Do at Work“. The other will be called “Linux Blog“. Then we are going to see how long it will take to get them returned on Page 1 in a Google search. I chose those two keywords on purpose. One of them has nothing to do with this site, although I have an idea about how to plug the site (read the articles). The other one could act as a complement to the site and help with getting traffic. Once the articles are written I will inform you on their progress in future articles.
How My Newbie Blog is Doing
Since we are talking about SEO I thought I would update you on how My Newbie Blog is doing with Google searches. The last time I wrote about this was April 7th, and on that day a search for “Newbie Blog” returned a result for My Newbie Blog of 32 on Page 4. Today – Page 1 position 6.
For the other main keyword “how to create a blog” on April 7 we were getting a result of 342. Today we are at 91. It’s a long way from page 1 but we are on the move.
I am going to get busy and write those two articles I mentioned earlier. I will report back to you shortly.
